MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen him break into mainstream Latin music. His 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu was the recipient of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for the most popular Song in 2017. His debut album ADN was issued through La Industria Inc., an Medellin-based Sony distribution company. This album peaked at 8 on the Top Latin Albums charts. Vaina Loca, one of the Top Five hit of Ozuna's Top Five album in 2007 led him to join Ozuna. The group released Dopamina the chart-topping second album, in the following year. In 2021, he appeared on a duet TINI on her streaming smash track Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was published in 2023. Turizo came from a family of musicians his mother and older brother are musicians. In interviews, he described his participation in music as compulsory. As a child he learned to play saxophone guitar ukulele and piano. He initially wanted to be a vet, but after his brother Julian was convinced to let him attend singing lessons from an Cuban singer, he altered his career plans.
